Maersk is represented by Maersk Uganda Limited, which was established in June 1999. Maersk Uganda Limited is fully online, connected with Maersk's worldwide computer network, which also enables Ugandan exporters and importers to do business on-line.

In September 2000 an ICD conveniently located in Kampala's Industrial Area was opened. The Maersk ICD facilitates fast and smooth shipments to and from Uganda and neighbouring countries. Besides convenient road access for trucks, the ICD also offers direct rail links to and from Mombasa and Dar es Salaam.
