Donations

As a global company, we are present in over 120 countries, and we recognise that we play an important role in the communities where we operate. We create jobs, improve infrastructure and facilitate the flow of domestic and international trade. We also have a long tradition of contributing to local communities, and we support many causes where our unique skills and assets as a global shipping company can make a real difference.

What we prioritise

To ensure that we maximise the impact of our social investments, we prioritise the projects we want to support on an ongoing basis. We generally prioritise projects that support the global nature of our business and our desire to create opportunities for global commerce. We have identified two priority causes that we focus on for donations:

Disaster relief & preparedness
We give priority to projects that help alleviate the impact of natural disasters and increase access to essential goods and services for the communities affected.

Enabling trade
We give priority to projects that encourage new social and economic opportunities for underprivileged communities through regional and global trade.

Who we support

We focus on projects that involve reputable third-party organisations or non-government organisations and our key customers. We only consider donations for individuals in exceptional circumstances or when the individual is associated with a reputable third-party organisation.

Who we do not support

All of our donation decisions take into account the Group’s reputation and values. We do not support initiatives, projects or groups that we believe do not match our values or live up to our company policies

Please note that Maersk Line will not accept donation requests via personal emails or in hard copy.
