| On 23 May, Maersk Line in Italy celebrated the largest ship to ever call the port of Genoa.
|
|
|
The 366-metre long Maersk Eindhoven operates on the AE11 service that connects Asia to the Mediterranean, with very competitive transit times east bound and very wide Asian coverage.
“The fact that Genoa is included in AE11 rotation confirms Maersk's commitment towards Genoa as the gate to the main Mediterranean market,” said Orazio Stella, Maersk Italy Managing Director.
The use of ships of this magnitude confirms Maersk Line’s commitment to the reliability of our services and guarantees a quality product for customers.
The event was celebrated with Maersk Italy customers, local authorities and Voltri Terminal Europa (Genoa Terminal) representatives.
Maersk Line Chief Commercial Officer, Lucas Vos, took part in the event and gave a little speech that confirming Maersk Line is “very proud to be the first carrier bringing such an amazingly big vessel into this Italian port.”
Having the opportunity to get on board the vessel and take a short tour, participants said they felt the occasion was truly memorable.
“We have no doubt that this event can help in making our business relationship with all parties involved stronger and stronger,” commented Roberto Giovannetti, Maersk Italy Trade & Marketing Director.
