Maersk Line’s new Daily Maersk service is delivering what it promised. Since the first cut-off on October 24th absolute reliability has been matched with average on-time cargo availability of 99.4%.
Maersk Line is now improving the product into three ports in North Europe:
Corridor: Transit Time
Shanghai – Zeebrugge: 26 days – Also connecting Japan and Hong Kong direct
Shanghai – Hamburg: 28 days
Shanghai – Le Havre 26 days – Also connecting North China direct
The Daily Maersk transportation time promise doesn’t apply on these corridors, however Maersk Line customers on these corridors will now have the opportunity to benefit from the increase in reliability offered by inclusion on the Daily Maersk conveyor belt. The changes will take effect in connection with the discontinuation of the VSA with CMA mid February.
Vincent Clerc, Vice President of Europe Service at Maersk Line says:
“The cancellation of the vessel sharing agreement with CMA offered us another opportunity to look at how we served customers moving cargo between Asia and North Europe. We found that without CMA we could actually offer an enhanced service to customers in more corridors and maintain our promise on the Daily Maersk corridors. So that is what we did.”
NOTES TO EDITORS:
1. Daily Maersk offers a daily service between four ports in Asia (Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian and Tanjung Pelepas) and three ports in Europe (Felixstowe, Rotterdam and Bremerhaven) creating a giant ocean liner conveyor belt on the world’s busiest trade lane.
2. Maersk Line will discontinue the vessel sharing agreement service with CMA (AE8). The last sailing will be the Maersk Edison with cut-off in Ningbo on February 16th.
3. The Asia to North Europe and Asia to Mediterranean networks will also be disentangled with the establishment of a new Asia to Mediterranean product. Specifics on this product will follow with first sailing planned to coincide with above cancelation date.
