Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)
C-TPAT is a joint initiative between US customs, importers, terminal operators, carriers and other parties in the international supply chain. C-TPAT sets standards in self-assessments of participants’ security, who then adjust security standards where necessary, and communicate these new practices to business partners to ensure tighter security in the supply chain.
Through participation in C-TPAT the benefits of US importers will be:
- Reduced inspections and checks
- Expedited processing
- Assignment of a Customs Account Manager for fast processing
Maersk Line security processes were validated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in November 2003, and was successfully re-validated in October 2007.
If you have not already signed up for the C-TPAT programme, we encourage you to do so.
