General Motors Colombia selects Maersk Line Colombia as ‘Best Logistics Supplier of the year’

What you really want to know is when you can pick up your goods.

Maersk Line Colombia has been working hard to give customers the advantage. This was recently recognised when General Motors Colombia selected them as their ‘Best Logistics Supplier for 2011’. In particular General Motors highlighted Maersk Line’s on time delivery as a vital factor in being able to reduce inventories.

Whilst on time delivery in the last calendar year (for goods shipped for GM Colombia) stood at 90%, other factors also helped Maersk Line gain this recognition. Maersk Line’s ecommerce tools help to reduce the administrative burden for customers; combine this with Maersk Line people who go the extra mile to give a personalised service with all cargo monitored, timely follow-up and regular feedback, and you get something quite special.

Until now, shipping companies have only provided customers with an estimate of when a vessel will arrive at port. This doesn’t really tell you very much; after a vessel arrives in port your cargo remains unavailable until it has been cleared.

Rodrigo Artavia, Caribbean Sea Cluster Sales Manager, receiving the award on behalf of Maersk Line, said: "This is a merit award for the hard work that ensures cargo gets on time from Brasil, China, Korea and Europe."

This is the second time that General Motors Colombia has recognised Maersk Line Colombia in this way. It is a clear indication that Maersk Line’s superior products and continuous improvement ethos are making the difference for customers.
