Rumba will connect South America with West Central Asia

Brazil and India, two of the world’s fastest growing economies will now be connected by a unique, weekly liner service as Maersk Line launches the Rumba service to boost trade between these markets. The service is starting within the next three weeks and will provide wide coverage of key ports in the Mediterranean and Middle East besides India and Brazil.
The service will be particularly interesting for South American meat and poultry exporters to reach their customers in Middle East smooth and fast. The service provides over 1000 reefer plugs per sailing and proffers loading facility at key ports such as Itajai, Paranagua and Santos in Brazil along with Montevideo in Uruguay. Rumba will offer best in class transit time from Santos to Jebel Ali Dubai in 24 days.
This service will also help fresh fruit exporters from Spain reach their customers in United Arab Emirates as it connects Valencia to Jebel Ali Dubai in just 11 days. Exporters of paper, plastic and metal from West Mediterranean region will also benefit as the service will connect them with their customers in Middle East and India, for instance Valencia to Mumbai in 14 days.
Technology leader in reefer transportation
Maersk Line with its leadership in the reefer technology provides the best transportation for frozen poultry and meat. The carrier has its reefers run on Quest, a software that ensures quality and energy efficiency in storage and transport of such products.
On the Westbound direction, the service will help resin and plastic exporters from Middle East and textile exporters from India reach their customers in Mediterranean and East Coast South America. Rumba will bring first in class transit time from Jebel Ali Dubai and Nhava Sheva to Genoa in respectively 15 and 12 days.
