Maersk Line, a globally leading container shipping company and part of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group has been recognized with the “Shipping Line of the Year” award at the Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards 2011, held on December 1st in Shanghai.
The Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards are organized by Supply Chain Asia, bringing recognition to outstanding corporations and individuals in the fields of supply chain management and logistics. Finalists are selected through nomination from magazine readers and community members. The final selection of winners is decided by a group of independent judges.
Mike Fang, Head of Sales for East China, Maersk Line received the award on behalf of the company, and said ”Winning the Shipping Line of the Year award again proves to us that our efforts to improve through a focus on reliability, customer experience and environmental performance is paying dividends. We truly appreciate this support and encouragement of our customers and will continue to try to set new standards in the industry. Our new Daily Maersk concept providing daily departures from 4 trunk ports in Asia to three North Europe main ports and offering a promise of on-time delivery is an example of this.
