General rate increase in the North America to Mediterranean, North Africa, Middle East and Indian Subcontinent trades30 October 2009 Maersk Line would like to announce a general rate increase effective 1 December 2009 in the North America to Mediterranean, North Africa, Middle East, and Indian Subcontinent trades. The trading conditions for the carriers operating in these markets are still subject to unacceptable rate levels and the situation is unsustainable in the longer term. The rate increase is necessary to continue to operate our services with the high level of reliability our customers have come to expect from Maersk Line. The filed increases are as follows: The increase applies from all origins in USA and Canada to destinations in Mediterranean and North Africa.
