We aim to provide a verify copy of the Switch Bill of Lading (B/L) to you for approval within 1-2 working days. The fee for this service is SGD$200/ per Bill of Lading ( effective 1st May 2012).
To help us process your Switch Bill of Lading (B/L) request smoothly and deliver within the service deadline, we wish to highlight following conditions that apply to this service:
Surrender of 3/3 original B/L together with payment of all outstanding freight and surcharges on the B/L.
Switch instructions
Submission deadline – Depending on the delivery country. The estimated deadline for submission is 3 working days prior to container discharge at last transhipment port; this is in compliance with the Customs Authority rules where discharge of containers is not allowed when there is no actual receiver for these countries.
We therefore encourage you to perform the Switch earliest to avoid Custom Manifest closure.
For Nigeria imports:
Deadline must be at least 8 days prior vessel arrival at the Nigerian port.
Amendment to cargo description – we wish to inform that we are unable to amend description of cargo as they are declared by the Shipper on the first set of B/L issued at load port. However, if you need amendment to these items, please approach the Shipper to follow up with Maersk office at Origin to make the change and, we will act based on instruction received from that office.
Verify copy of Switch B/L amendment – should you require any amendment on the verify copy, please send the amended verify copy to bomgscidx@maersk.com and we will return the amended copy of B/L to you within the next 4 working hours.
Confirmation of verify copy of Switch B/L – if verify copy of B/L is in order, please send confirmation to bomgscidx@maersk.com and proceed with collection.
