Yantian Berthing As the weather situation has improved, the following operations at YICT have been resumed and Shenzhen Observatory has canceled all the typhoon signal at 1330hrs on 24 July, 2012.

Latest update: 15:30 p.m. Jul 24
At 24/1400, Severe Tropical Storm Vicente was estimated to be about 350 kilometres west of Hong Kong (near 22.7 degrees north 110.8 degrees east) and is forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour crossing Guangxi and weaken gradually.
Winds are still generally strong over the waters over western Hong Kong with occasional gales on high ground at first. Vicente is expected to continue to move inland, tracking further away from Hong Kong. Local winds will weaken further.
Yantian Berthing
The typhoon signal was decreased to "Blue" now and the pilot service is expected to resume at 25/1600.
Chiwan Berthing The typhoon signal was decreased to "Blue" now and the pilot service is expected to resume at 25/1730.
Nansha Berthing In the morning time 25/0119, the typhoon signal was increased to No. 4 wind ball. Current the typhoon signal decreased to No.3 wind ball. The pilot service is expected to resume 25/1800.
Hong Kong Berthing
After a short period of typhoon signal No. 10 at last night, current the typhoon signal No.3 wind ball still in force. The pilot service will resume 25/1700.

Latest update: 18:30 p.m. Jul 23
At 5 p.m., Typhoon Vicente was estimated to be about 180 kilometres south of Hong Kong (near 20.7 degrees north 114.5 degrees east) and is forecast to move west-northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the coast of western Guangdong.
Vicente moved steadily towards the western coast of Guangdong this afternoon. On its present forecast track, Vicente will skirt around 150 kilometres southwest of Hong Kong tonight and tomorrow morning. Local winds will strengthen further.
Yantian Berthing
The port is still under closure and heavy congestion expected after resuming.
Hong Kong Berthing
The typhoon signal No.8 will be announced at around 23/1740 and all vessels will be required to leave soon.
As per communication with string owner and capaciity, TP3/TP9 could not complete cargo operation and reberth after port operation resume considering YAT congestion.

Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to provide you with an update on Tropical Storm Vicente and its possible effects on our operations in South China.
Severe Tropical Storm Vicente was estimated to be about 300 kilometres south-southeast of Hong Kong (near 19.8 degrees north 115.2 degrees east) and is forecast to move north at about 8 kilometres per hour at first.
Vicente will move in the general direction of the coast of western Guangdong later.
The typhoon signal "Blue" was hoisted at 23/0600. Inbound pilot service suspended at 22/0800. Now all terminal operation including pilot service was suspended.
Adjustments to berthing schedules and barge services
To minimize the impact of the typhoon, berthing schedule and barge services have been adjusted as follows:
All other berthings remain unchanged until further notice.
Chiwan Berthing
The typhoon signal "Blue" at 23/0600. Inbound pilot service suspended at 23/0700. No Maersk vessel will call in coming days.

Nansha Berthing
No. 1 wind ball was hoisted at 22/0823. So far the terminal keeps working.
All other berthings remain unchanged until further notice
Hong Kong Berthing
No. 3 wind ball was hoisted at 23/0520. So far the terminal keeps working.
Barge Schedules
Under influence of Typhoon "Vicente", PRS barge service will be suspended or ceased in some locations, HKG berthing operation might be interrupted under No. 3 Signal.
