With the implementation of the Central Bank of Nigeria Cash policy in force soon, we will like to carry you along as a stakeholder, in the steps towards the required change.
Maersk Nigeria intends to provide solutions that will maintain the ease with which you transact business with us today.
In line with the policy, the use of cash as a means of settlement will be limited and by implication Maersk Nigeria Limited through her banks in Lagos will not accept cash payments from the 15th of March 2012.The Cash policy has provided alternative channels for receiving payments and same will be made available to our customers.
Maersk Nigeria Limited will be open to the use of Electronic payment channels like NIBSS(Nigeria Inter-bank Settlement System) Instant payment, RTGS(Real Time Gross Setttlement), NEFT(NIBSS Electronic Fund Transfer). The use of financial instruments such as Bank drafts will also predominantly be in use for settlement, hence banking relationship with Financial Institutions will be encouraged for our customers.
We understand the need to sensitize our customers on the full requirements of the policy and the impending changes to our collections process. To this end, we will be hosting you to a customer forum on the 21st of February 2012 between 10 – 12 am at ETAL Hotels & Halls, 1-15 Ede Street Apapa Lagos, in preparation of the expected change with consummate ease.
