Maersk Line will cease its service to and from the port of Bushehr (Iran), no cargo bound
for Bushehr will be loaded onto a Maersk Line operated vessel after the 30th of September
2012. Similarly, no cargo outbound from Bushehr will be loaded after the 24th of
September 2012.
As you may know, U.S. authorities have recently included all Iranian banks in their
sanctions regime which in this case makes it impossible for us to carry out business
transactions in the country. We have therefore regretfully had to make the decision to halt
services to and from Bushehr, at least until sanctions are eased.
Maersk Line will maintain a dormant business entity in Iran for the time being, enabling us
to quickly resume business should conditions change. We will, of course, inform you as
soon as any decision to resume services is taken.
