Star Shipping Bissau Lda. is a subsidiary of Maersk Gambia Limited (An A.P. Moller company). The office was opened in 2003, however, exports by Maersk Line from Guinea-Bissau began in 2000. The establishment of the office meant acceptance of both import and export cargo.

Star Shipping Bissau Lda is able to ship containerized cargo to and from Europe, Far East Asia, Middle East Asia, North and South America and Africa. We are able to do this with a minimum of 2 calls per month. During the busy cashew season from May to August Maersk Line is able to offer as many as eight calls a month.

Reefer Acceptance
Star Shipping Bissau Lda is able to offer restricted acceptance of reefer shipments to and from Guinea-Bissau.
Clause for Direct Delivery/Under Tackle Delivery
In the absence of suitable reefer plugs and/or equivalent power supply facilities at the herein named discharge port, the Merchant (Incl. receiver) undertakes to take delivery of the cargo under this bill of lading (or sea way bill) immediately on discharge of the container(s) for the carrying vessel at which time the carrier's responsibility hereunder ceases.
Neither the carrier nor the ship nor their servants nor agents shall be responsible for any deterioration or damage to the cargo whatsoever from the time when the container(s) is (are) disconnected from the ship's power supply.
In the event of failure to take delivery, or any refusal on the part of the merchant (incl. receiver) to accept delivery for any reason, the carrier is hereby granted specific authority by the Merchant (incl. receiver) to sell or otherwise dispose of the cargo at the sole risk and expenses of the Merchant (Incl. receiver)"
