Throughout all aspects of our vessel and shore operations, Maersk Liner Business is committed to conduct our business in a responsible and lawful manner with respect for the wider economic, social and environmental impacts of our activities. This has always been integral to the way we do business in the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group, and we strive to promote the same principles in our relationships with customers, suppliers and other business partners.

The Sustainability Policy for Maersk Liner Business is anchored in the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group’s core values and policies as well as our commitment to the UN Global Compact. It emphasizes our commitment to driving continual improvement in Health & Safety, Environment, Human & Labor Rights, Anti-Corruption and Security. To achieve the objectives of this policy, we will proactively identify and mitigate risks of negative impacts in these areas. At the same time, we will communicate openly and honestly about our performance.

Any breaches of the policy should be reported via appropriate channels, starting with direct management. Maersk’ global whistleblower system can be used to escalate violations of specific areas of the policy and is available to both external parties and employees of Maersk Liner Business.

Health & Safety

We will conduct our vessel operations and business activities in a manner that protects the health & safety of the employees working under our control and supervision. Our aim is zero accidents through establishing a strong safety culture at all levels within our organisation. Further, we will work to promote health & safety considerations and best practices in our relationship with suppliers and other business partners.

Environment

We are committed to reducing the impacts of our vessel operations and business activities on the environment through the mitigation of natural resource depletion and pollution. We will work towards a continual drive to reduce air emissions; responsible use and disposal of resources and prevention of damage to the marine environment caused by our vessels.

Human and Labour Rights

We will respect internationally recognized human rights and work to ensure that we do not contribute to human rights violations as a result of our global business activities. As a trusted employer, we will ensure that all our employees are treated in a manner consistent with the APMM Global Labour Principles and applicable laws and labour conventions.

Anti-Corruption

We will work against all forms of corruption in accordance with the law and the fundamental values of the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group. It is our policy that no employee – whether directly or through third parties – are to engage in any form of corrupt practice, including bribery and extortion. Furthermore, we are committed to working effectively towards the elimination of facilitation payments in line with relevant international standards.

Security

We will exercise constant care to prevent breaches of security, and cooperate actively and openly with pertinent authorities. We rank security considerations equally with commercial and operational factors in managing our business.
